AEDES is a private consulting company based in Brussels, specialised in public health. Since its creation in 1985, AEDES has implemented more than one thousand projects worldwide. AEDES mission is to contribute to improving the quality and access to health care around the world. For this purpose, AEDES promotes the share and transfer of knowledge by providing experienced human resources, performing consulting, and management services in the area of public health and nutrition.
Job qualification
Nutrition experts with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience, with master's degree (or equivalent) in nutrition or related areas and  professional experience in a developing country context, ideally a sub-Saharan African country.
This experience may have been gained working at the private, public and/or non-for-profit sectors. Possible areas of expertise include but are not limited to the following ones:

1. Project/program implementation & evaluation
• Proven experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of community-based acute malnutrition management programs
• Significant experience in evaluation and knowledge of field evaluation and information collection methods
• Ability to quickly evaluate / analyze information and develop recommendations for development programs

2. Health and nutrition Policies
• Programming and monitoring of policies and programs related to nutrition and nutritional monitoring of populations;
• Coordination of multisectoral and multi-stakeholder actions within a public institution, an executing agency or a project;
• Development of strategic documents and advocacy.

3. (Acute) Malnutrition
• Experience related to the fight against malnutrition in Africa and in particular in relation to community health and /or community-based nutrition.
• Experience in community development is an added value
• Good knowledge of relevant international initiatives, in particular SUN, REACH and AGIR.
• Strong knowledge of methodologies, tools, analyzes / surveys (quantitative and qualitative with a good basic knowledge in epidemiology) in public health and nutritional health including demographic surveillance sites.

Other qualifications:
• For a "Team leader" profile, at least 4 years’ experience as a project leader / public health support program preferably in sub-Saharan Africa, and ability to coordinate a team.
• Excellent writing and communication skills,
• Fluency in French and/or English required,
• Working experience in low- and medium- income countries
• Experience working with national and international NGOs, international development agencies, and donors is highly desirable.
• Willing to commit to a long-term mission
